About Petristics

Patristics refers to the writings of the "Fathers (Patri) of the Church," that is, the very early Christian authors like Justin Martyr, Cyril of Alexandria, Origen, Tertullian, and Augustine, who in a sense fathered Christianity. Petristics, coined by Francis Britto as the title of this blog, obviously, refers to similar writings having something to do with Peter, Peter's See, Peter's Seat, etc. Petristics makes no pretensions of being comparable to Patristics in its religious profundity.
